Bio

Jana grew up in Decorah and attended Luther College. After graduating college, she joined AmeriCorps and served in Billings, Montana. Jana then spent time in Bakersfield, California as a substitute teacher and reference librarian. Jana attended Willamette University Law School in Salem, Oregon. After graduating law school, she moved to Westminster, Colorado and practiced law for 13 years. In 2016, Jana and her family moved back to Decorah to join the firm.

Jana’s primary areas of practice include real estate transactions, estate planning, probate, business and taxation. She is also Assistant County Attorney for Winneshiek County.

Jana has served the community through different Boards, including Decorah Chamber of Commerce, Winneshiek County Community Foundation, Decorah Scholarship Board, and Decorah Athletic Boosters. Jana enjoys various outdoor activities including downhill and water skiing. Jana’s husband, John, is a PA with Winneshiek Medical Center. They have two sons and a daughter that keep them busy.
